Christopher Edward Hanley, 29, of Oak Street in Boscawen was arrested at 9:26 a.m. on Feb. 8 on stalking and two violation of protective order charges. An officer investigated a complaint from a woman who claimed to have received two voicemails in violation of a protective order. The complainant said the calls came from a blocked number, the report said. After listening to the voicemails, the woman recognized the voice to be Hanley’s, an affidavit said. “She recognized him to be very intoxicated based on how he was speaking,” the officer wrote in a report. The woman forwarded the new voicemails to the officer, as well as past recordings, and they listened to the recordings. In the first one, Hanley was accused of swearing, making derogatory comments about himself, and suggesting, “do whatever, call the f------ cops, send me to f------- to jail, like, ooh, wow,” and other comments. In the second call, he admitted to drinking, said he would not call her again, and made other comments, the affidavit stated. The officer wrote the new recordings sounded like the same man who left messages in December 2023, the report stated. The protection order was issued on Oct. 31, 2023, and was verified. The officer spoke with Hanley and accused him of admitting he got drunk and did stupid things when he was drunk. While drafting the arrest warrant, Boscawen police picked him up. The officer picked him up, processed him in Concord, and he was taken to the county jail.
