Queen City Man Accused Of Firing Gun On I-93 While Drunk Driving: NH State Police Roundup

CONCORD, NH — A man from Manchester was arrested Thursday on multiple charges after being accused of firing a gun while drunk driving.

Around 6:30 p.m., New Hampshire State Police began receiving reports about shots fired on Interstate 93 north in Salem. Several witnesses reported seeing a man “indiscriminately shooting a firearm in the breakdown lane in the area” near Mile Marker 0.6, Nichole Stone of the state police said.

The man was identified as Richard Cruz-Rodriguez, 41, of Manchester, and he was arrested on reckless conduct, felonious use of a firearm, and driving under the influence charges.

“There were no reported injuries,” she said.

Wrong-Way Driver Arrest

State police arrested a Hampstead woman on Sunday morning after she was accused of wrong-way drunk driving on Interstate 93 north.

Around 5 a.m., state police were sent to Mile Marker 6.8 area in Windham for a report of a driver traveling north in the southbound lanes since the Massachusetts border. A trooper who was in Manchester was able to intercept the vehicle around Mile Marker 13.6 in Londonderry and stopped it.

The driver, Stephanie McPhee, 31, was arrested on aggravated driving while intoxicated and reckless conduct-deadly weapon charges. She was processed and released. McPhee is due in Derry District Court in May.

Crash Leads To Negligent Homicide Charges

Alexander Bazarnicki, 29, was arrested on Thursday on two negligent homicide charges after a crash in Gilsum on March 29.

David Bosma, 81, and his passenger, Kathleen Bosma, of unknown age, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, according to state police. Bazarnicki was accused of drunk driving at the time of the crash. The charges were elevated after state police completed their investigation.

Bazarnicki was released on bail and was due in Keene District Court on Monday.
