An officer was sent to Concord Hospital at 250 Pleasant St. for a report of a woman refusing to leave after being discharged, according to an affidavit. Security accused the woman, Martell, of “attempting to get into other people’s vehicles.” The officer found her sitting on a curb across from hospice and spoke with her, a report said. Martell said she had no place to go and was waiting at the hospital for treatment. Her behavior and physical gestures “appeared erratic,” and she was “not able to maintain her train of thought,” the officer wrote. After speaking with a security officer who wanted her off the property, the officer talked to Martel again. When advised to leave, she refused, and when asked again if she would go, she stated, “No,” the affidavit said. She was then arrested. The officer accused Martel of becoming erratic again, “yelling and uncontrollably waving her hands,” which made the booking process difficult. Due to her being accused of being uncooperative and confrontational, Martel was taken to the county jail.
