Tracy James Blodgett, 56, a homeless man now located in Concord, was arrested at 10:53 a.m. on July 2 on felony theft by unauthorized taking-$1,001 to $1,500 and criminal mischief charges. Around 1:30 p.m. on April 14, an officer was sent to Pembroke Road to investigate a catalytic converter theft by an employee for the New Hampshire Natural and Cultural Resources of one of the department’s Ford F-250s. Another employee said when starting the vehicle earlier in the day, it did not sound right, and while checking underneath, they discovered the converter was missing. Employees began reviewing security camera footage, which picked up 57 photos of two men wearing masks near the vehicle. One man appeared to be a look out while the other was stealing the converter from under the truck. On April 21, after distributing the photos to other police employees, one suspect was identified as Blodgett, an affidavit stated. On May 15, Blodgett was questioned at his campsite on Integra Drive. When asked by officers, he was accused of becoming “instantly aggressive” and started yelling and denying being involved. When being told the photos looked just like him — with the same hair and glasses, Blodgett walked away, the report said. The officers walked toward him and his campsite — where the officers discovered what looked like a new generator as well as other items. “Tracy again denied taking the catalytic converter … and became extremely defensive,” the report said. A warrant was issued for his arrest on June 2.
