SOUTHINGTON, CT — A baked potato covered with mac and cheese?

That's just one of the specialties of the first Hidden Gem of 2023.

Welcome to Marino's Ski Bites, a small snack shack tucked into a corner of the base area at Mount Southington.

While it may be small in size, the menu is large. In addition to the baked potatoes (another topping is chili and cheese), Marino's features pizza, nachos, mac and cheese (without the potato but bacon is an option) pizza and giant pretzels.

It's a culinary oasis for skiers, snowboarders and spectators alike.
