SOUTHINGTON, CT — The latest Hidden Gem is also another argument that Connecticut is the pizza capital of the world and it makes an offer of pies you can't refuse.

Welcome to The Family Brick Oven Pizza Truck, based in Southington but found all over Hartford and Tolland counties.

It's truly a pizza restaurant on wheels, whether at a neighborhood party or large event.

It serves up real brick oven pies, whether traditional offerings like cheese or bacon or pepperoni or some of the specialties.

One specialty pie certainly stands out — the Chicken Sammich. It features breaded chicken, cheese, bacon and pickles and might just taste like a certain menu item for a southern-based fast food chain, except there is not long line of cars.

Another is the Loaded Potato pie featuring homemade mashed, scallions, cheddar cheese and bacon.

We pull up to your location, heat up our wood fired pizza oven and start to make fresh, hot pizza’s for you and your guests. The Family Pizza Truck allows you, as the host, to enjoy your function with your guests. Not only do we serve pizza, but we also have a mixed green salad and hot S'mores."
